Migrant Heritage Commission’s HEALTH CARE RESOURCES PROGRAM

Part of MHC's Health Care Resource and Support Program is to refer the Filipino migrants who are uninsured and the
underinsured (no dental coverage etc.) to free health care services made available by other civic groups.
There are two Health Care services being offered this month which were initially announced during the 3rd Annual MISA
NG BAYAN, as follows:
I. Free dental services by the Northern Virginia Community College Mission of Mercy and Virginia Lions Club :
Where: Northern Virginia Community College Medical Education Center
6699 Springfield Center Drive, Springfield, VA 22150
Dates: Friday, March 14 & Saturday, March 15, 2008
Times: 6 AM to 5 PM
Directions: From 395 or 495, take VA-644E towards Franconia
Turn R on Loisdale Rd.Turn L on Springfield Center Drive. Look for the Medical Center on the left
The free dental service will include tooth extraction and cleaning. However, prior to this, all patients need to undergo blood
pressure tests and pulse rate check. A dental registration form will be given to each patient upon arrival at the clinic.
II. MHC Health Screening III - Alexandria-Asian American Lions Club District 24-A Virginia
during the Free Seminar on Legal, Health and General Interests sponsored by Consejo De Consulta del
Consulado General del Perú en Washington, D.C. (Consulate-General of Peru)
Dates: Saturday, March 15, 2008 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

MHC ANNOUNCES SCHEDULED HEALTH SCREENINGS TO ALL MIGRANTS FOR APRIL AND MAY 2008

The Migrant Heritage Commission ( MHC ) is pleased to announce scheduled health screenings under its MHC Health
Resource and Support Program in partnership with the Alexandria Asian-American Lions Club District 24-A Virginia Lions
(AAALC), for two events in April and May 2008. Volunteer doctors, nurses, physical therapists and other healthcare
professionals have been invited from MHC , migrants’ community group, the Philippine Medical Association Metro DC,
Association of Philippine Physicians of Maryland (APPM), the Philippine Nurses Association of Metro DC, Maryland Chapter
Philippine Nurses Association and Metro SPINE. Health screenings include medical consultations, blood sugar/glucose
tests, cholesterol and bp check, sight and hearing tests, back and neck massage etc. Migrants particularly the uninsured or
underinsured are encouraged to avail of these free health services and consultations. For more information and for

Heritage Foundation in cooperation with Migrant Heritage Commission ( MHC ), Pennsylvania Ave. NW , Washington
D.C. (Between 3rd and 6th streets)
